Seen, heard and read this month

Good news: the election is over, yaaay! The bad news: well…. It’s inescapable, isn’t it?

Seen:

-Snow! Below-freezing temperatures! Wasn’t expecting it so soon after we’ve been riding milder weather since before October. But it is half way through November, I guess…

-The National Ballet of Canada’s production of Cinderella! It’s not often I get out to see a ballet, but I’m glad I finally got to see it this year.

-Mannequin Challenge. Kind of cool? Still think the Harlem Shake of 2014 was better.

Smart cockatoos being smart.

-Christmas. Christmas is officially everywhere now, whether you’re into it or not. The Santa Clause parade was on the weekend, which means BRING ON THE JING-A-LING TUNES.

-A little show called Cuisine and Confessions. It was exactly how it sounds: live cooking onstage with some personal stories, and a little bit dance mixed in.

Heard:

-Good things about the new movie Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. I must see it in a theatre, and in a theatre only, because it is the only way I will get that magical movie experience.

Love and Imagination.

Read:

The Big Sleep, by Raymond Chandler. It was…. Interesting? I saw the movie a few years ago, and it was just as confusing as the book, if not more. (Although Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall made a fab team.) Very descriptive and fast paced, but holy heck it was complex.

Drank (new):

-My first iced peppermint mocha of the season!!! It was delightful. Must have another.

-A glass of chardonnay before the ballet on Friday night. Everyone was buzzed on alcohol, so that made it all the more awesome.

Lastly, here’s some music to round up this month:
